Do we really Care?

I am not about to pontificate on the rights and wrongs of care for those in our society who are needy or indeed those who would have us believe they are when all they want to do is stick out a hand for a handout from the British “Welfare State”.

No, I am asking the question, “do we really care what political party of political persuasion an actor supports of believes in”?  Strange as it may seem, I don’t care a jot!   But what I do care about is the privileged position an actor or “celebrity” is in that permits them to think that they can [the actor or “celebrity” that is] pontificate to us, the general public about matters that rarely touch them.

I’m fed up listening to so called “fringe” comedians constantly blathering on about how terrible the government is [actually it may be but that’s for real pundits to decide not some “lovey” from the arts world] when we are in the middle of a crises not seen since the second world war.   It is often these “edgy” comedians who are also the most offensive towards minority groups in this land of ours, the most foul mouthed and often the least amusing.  There there are the high minded “edgy AND minority” comedians who are far too well educated to more among we mere mortals.  Now these are the most dangerous because they are actually funny at times and have or will soon become, “National Treasures”

So, apart from irritating me a lot the answer to my original question is, No, I don’t care what they say.  Just stop saying it on the airwaves for which I am paying taxes!

Happy Days!
